HD 4870 Graphics Card – Memory Question:?

I purchased an HD 4870 from VisionTek. Standard specs with 512MB of GDDR5 memory . However, DXDIAG shows that the card has 2297MB of memory. To confirm this, I ran a “CanYouRunIt” for Crysis. Crysis needs 640MB of video card RAM to pass it’s “Recommended” spec test. My card showed as 2.2GB, confirming the dxdiag.

Could someone explain this to me please?

did you install the correct driver?

More importantly, before that, you should remove the old graphic card driver first, before installing a new one

you can also get the latest driver from ATi website, to ensure any issue with the old version have been fixed

the most accurate software to tell you everything about your graphic card is GPU-Z
