Video Card Quadro
GeForce 9600 GT vs Quadro FX 560 for video editing?
I am looking at a video editing program (Avid media composer) and comparing the video card I have (Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT) vs Avid’s recommended minimum card (Quadro FX 560). Would you recommend changing out the video card I have for a Quadro? I would prefer not to change it out but if it would be absolutely necessary to do so what would you recommend? Thanks in advance for your reply.
If you are not a professional video editor and make use of professional CAD programs, then you can stay on your current video card.
The quadro series are basically the same cards with the same hardware of common cards like your 9600GT. The only difference is, that they have optimized drivers for professional tools, video editing cad etc. which allows you to work faster (not for gaming too). You pay the extra money to the programmers, who put their effort into programming those specialized drivers.
