Video Card Pci Express X16

It's a 8800GT video card is still the best card if you do not have PCI Express x16 2.0?
If my mother has no PCI Express x16 2.0 A further 8800 being a good card? I mean, if the entire bandwidth of data stream processors are removed, and other advantages of 2.0, would it still be good, or I x16 go with a cheaper card will have the same performance as an 8800GT in the slot of 1.1?
It will however be able to perform better when they have that communicate through the motherboard. For example, load textures in video memory card will be slower, since it has to be sent through a slow PCI-E, but once you load the card can do all the work to the internal speed (as dictated by your GPU, RAM and speed RAMDAC). I guess because I'm still using AGP I, is that the performance will be a kind of slick, fast and slow in some places than others, but slower when you have to pull data through the PCI-E (though not necessarily notoriously slow). Note that the PCI-E 2.0 is twice as effective as performance PCI-E 1.1, which supported it. Moreover, the time his mother has a real x16 (some old x16 were really disguised x8), the 8800GT should still do better than any x16 card.
