Why won’t my GeForce 9800gt 1gig eco intelligence card work.?

Question: I throw my card in my motherboard start it up, but the monitor won’t turn on at all, just get the amber light showing no signal. Already tried these:
*Made sure cables are plugged into vid card
*Made sure onboard display is disabled
*Made sure power supply can handle it
*Made sure mb runs PCI Express
*Tried Vid card on another monitor
Am I missing any more obvious ones? my old vid card still works fine when i put it in!!
Our answer:
1.enable your on board display,connect your monitor to that & start up the system as it was before.when it come up fine shut down your system.
2.Fix your GeForce 9800gt card to your computer(do not connect the monitor to this yet,let it be connected to on board card only) start up the computer.it will come backup still using the on board card.
3.if your new card is supported & fixed properly your operating system will detect & popup a new hardware found message as soon as the computer come up.It will ask you to install drivers,at this point you use the driver disc provided by the GeForce 9800gt card vendor to install the driver(do not allow your operating system to selectinstall driver automatically).
4Once the driver is installed go to device manager & see that your new card is listed & installed properly.
5.If all above is done fine ,then turn off your computer,connect your monitor to the new graphics card & start the computer & it should work fine.
