What video card should I buy?

Hello, my computer has a 3.2GHz AMD processor and a gig of RAM. I want to play Battlefield 2142 and such Rainbow 6 vegas time. I need a video card. I have a 500W power supply, and PCI and AGP. I have no PCI-E. I need a video card with 256 MB RAM built in. I've been looking, but do not know if they have the pixel shaders 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0, which I think is important. I am looking to buy a cheap video card play the field. Thanks, Tim

any of the NVIDIA 8000 series cards are great. The top of the line at this time is 8500 GT with 512 megs and is SLI so you can pair, but the 8300 GS and 8400 GS with 256 are very good cards and more affordable. good luck
